Alkyl Dimethyl Benzyl Ammonium Chloride is a pale yellow, clear liquid with even-numbered alkyl chain lengths. This nitrogenous cationic surface-active agent belongs to the quaternary ammonium group. It is widely used in fungicidal formulations, cleaning agents, as a phase transfer agent, and as a preservative in cosmetics. The chemical is stable within a pH range of 4 to 10 and can withstand temperatures up to 120°C. It is readily soluble in ethanol and acetone.
