Chlorocresol, with a chemical formula C7H7ClO, appears as a white crystalline powder with a phenolic odor. This substance is not natural, rather made by human beings. It is used for many products, from cosmetics and personal care to leather products, as a preservative and germicide. It is also added to pesticides as it acts as a chemical intermediate. Given its anti-fungal and disinfectant properties, it is added into eye drops and hand wash. While using this chemical, one must be very cautious, as it can cause irritation to the eyes and skin.
